Another school year has begun and the Lion’s Roar is back to business, with two new faces taking on the roles of Co-Editors-In-Chief. Hannah Brouillard and Rachel Smith, both Juniors at LHS this year, have taken on the task with excitement. They are strong writers, hard workers, and bring their own unique set of skills to the Lions Roar Newspaper. Doreen Picozzi, the administrator behind the Journalism Academy, says, “They really are the perfect match. One is liberal, one is conservative. One loves food, one loves art. They just compliment each other all the way.” Their differing perspectives and individual personalities have brought many great stories and photographs to the Lions Roar in their time at Lincoln High School, and they are ready to contribute even more.
Hannah
An avid reader and baker, Hannah Brouillard is full of creativity. Her love for reading started when she was very little, and from that came a love for writing. Hannah’s baking has always been something that she finds relaxing, and it is what she uses to calm her when life gets hectic.
Since she was a little girl, she loved to be the center of attention. She’s participated in the school Drama club since the fourth grade, and even used to dress her cats in costumes and perform plays with her sister for their family. Hannah has three sisters, one of which left for college this fall.
Hannah would like to pursue Psychology or Political Science at a four-year college in the future, but she is ultimately undecided. She would be open to any college location, depending on what path she decides to follow, but especially loves the New Hampshire and Vermont area.

What she is most looking forward to this year: Covering many exciting stories, especially with the election!
Rachel
With a love for photography, Rachel Smith finds her creativity through a camera lens. Her love for taking photos and admiring photos comes from the growth of social media, especially VSCO, a popular photography and editing mobile app that has turned into a social outlet for anything creative. She also finds expression through doing her makeup, and even watches tutorials on youtube to help her destress.
When Rachel was young, she was far more reserved than she is now. She hated having to talk in front of others or be the center of attention, but this all changed in Middle School. She is now bubbly and considerably more outgoing. As an only child, she had to find her way without the guidance of siblings.
Rachel also has a love for knowledge, and exercises it by watching Ted Talks and learning about the human mind. For the future, Rachel would like to attend a four-year college and study something in the Psychology or Journalism field. Her dream is to go to college in New York City.

What she is most looking forward to this year: Starting her own Photography Club for Exhibition!
Hannah and Rachel are not only a team as Editors, they are also best friends and partners in everything. “Whether we’re laughing uncontrollably, ranting to each other, or having deep conversations, I know that I can trust her and that she is always listening to me,” Rachel says about Hannah. The girls met at the start of high school and their friendship grew from there. “No matter what’s going on in my life, good things or bad things, I talk to [Rachel], and that’s part of the reason I think it’s so easy to work with her in Journalism,” says Hannah.
Both Hannah and Rachel have already begun their jobs as Co-Editors-in-Chief and have shown great initiative in their roles. The rest of the editorial board positions are not yet designated, but will be put in place within the next few weeks. The Journalism Academy also welcomes any creative minds who would like to contribute to the Lions Roar! With the 2019-2020 school year kicking into action, the Co-Editors are ready for a thrilling and significant experience in their new capacity. Congratulations, Hannah and Rachel!
