The Soul Beneath The Star

At Lincoln High School, Tommy Beauchemin is known as the rock star basketball player, but really, there is more to him than that.  Although the basketball star is only the eighth person from LHS to have scored 1000 points in one season, which he says is the best moment in his school career, Beauchemin is one of the most outgoing and friendly students here at Lincoln High School.

The “soft” side of Tommy is one of his most amazing attributes. He is a family man at heart. “I aspire to be someone like my dad… he’s hard working, he loves his family, and he’s happy with everything he has right now,” Tommy expressed. His father, his role model, alongside his mother, Mary, and big sister, Casey, raised Tommy to be the man he is today.

For four years, Tommy has astonished everyone around him. He has been able to balance out school, basketball, a social life, and, of course, family. Tommy has a great connection with all his teachers and he has made an impact on them, as they have also made an impact on Tommy. One of Beauchemin’s teachers, Mr. Jordan, says “Tommy is a very respectful, polite young man.”

He does exceptionally well in school and he is graduating this year to attend Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts for Finance. He will be attending with his best friend, Sean Doris.  Another one of Tommy’s best friends, Delaney Cavanaugh, talks about her friendship with Tommy. “He has the most positive personality, he’s awesome. Tommy’s always around so you know he’s a reliable friend.”

Tommy is fun-loving and has many friends who care about him.  Tommy’s best friend Sean Doris states, “Tommy is a great kid, he really knows how to care about everyone else before caring about himself.” Tommy and Sean have been friends for awhile and Sean says Tommy is great at making people laugh.

Tommy hopes to grow up and live a happily married life with children and a good job. He imagines himself being well-off, as he is striving to become a financial analyst for the Boston Celtics basketball team. “Do whatever makes you happy because in the end, that’s all that matters.” Tommy lives by this quote. He wants to be known as someone who doesn’t let other people force him to be a person he does not want to be.
